For Kaelen

Top

This is one of the items sewn for Kaelen over the summer. It was actually supposed to have sleeves, but the armholes ended up being quite tight so I made it a tank instead.
By the way isn't this girl pretty! I think she should be modeling all of my stuff, she makes it look so good.

This wasn't K's favorite item, she felt the cotton was too heavy. She may have been right, but she did get compliments every single time she wore it.
Lately, I've been having a ton more fun sewing than knitting. I can't seem to finish anything knitwise. Sigh, might have to change this blog's name to sewypants if I don't get my butt in gear.

Fiona wears a dress

Dress

You know, I did a ton of sewing over the summer (a ton being about 5 different items) but because I'm an extremely lazy blogger I haven't been showing them.

Dress

That changes today, for the next few days all you're going to get is really old sewing projects. Exciting isn't it?

Dress

This is the little pink dress that I made for Fiona in June. She wore it all summer and even now still tries to put it on, but it's too cold, so I tell her no like a good mom. Then she runs around in her skivvies all day instead!

The pattern sucked! It was some Simplicity pattern that I've already thrown out it was so bad.

So today, I plan to finish the last sleeve of a sweater that I dread working on. No pictures, but maybe I will take some later and show them tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Anthro Capelet
I finished something! Anthropologie-Inspired Capelet by Julia Allen. Yarn is Jaeger Extra Fine Merino Chunky. Yum, yum, yum this stuff was nice to knit with.
Fast and fun little knit, no wonder everyone has made one. No button, cause it just looks better without.
Kids
And for all my dear friends and relations. A bald baby.
Kids
And a sweet little girl.
Kids
But not for too long.

My So Called Scarf Part Deux

You may be wondering why I am posting intimate pictures of my husband and I.

My So Called Scarf

Be assured that I am most definitely not.

My So Called Scarf

Have I ever mentioned that my husband is a bit of a diva? A drama king?

My So Called Scarf

Likes to hog the spot light, wants all eyes on himself!

My So Called Scarf

Well, this little photo shoot is proof. He would not leave me alone till I put down the camera, untied the scarf and walked away. Sigh, next time I'll take my pictures while he is at work.

Anyways, this is my second, My So Called Scarf, I've made, and the second time I've used Louisa Harding's Kimono Angora in this lovely shade of blue. Normally I don't repeat myself in such a crazy fashion, but what happened is this.

First, I made this scarf in yummy Manos. I ended up giving it to my mom because she loved it and I found the fabric a bit to firm.

Second, I made this scarf (scroll down a wee bit) in the Kimono Angora. I ended up giving it to my mom because she loved and I found the scarf a bit too drapy.

(By the way, my mom did ask for both scarves. I'm not a bad daughter who just gives my precious mother the knitted duds.)

Anyways, I noticed on Ravelry that someone else had made a My So Called Scarf in Kimono Angora in the lovely blue shade, and it hit me. This was the perfect marriage of pattern and yarn. The pattern stitch makes a very sturdy fabric which works perfectly with the gorgeous drape of the yarn and Voila! I have the best scarf ever!

Ummmm..., I used two skeins and it's almost, but not quite, too short but other than that perfection.

Root Children

Root Children

Here are the little dolls I mentioned last week. Fiona has claimed them as her own little root children. Rebecca has become their mother and they are a very happy little family.

I have some more little heads made up and Jarvis has insisted it's his turn next. I think I will use this tutorial for these ones, I just purchased some nice wool felt and they look like a good use for it, or how about this mushroom, so cute.
