Ha! A Finished Object.

If you look at my progress bars, you will notice they are all under 40% done. Except Skully, but don't look at him, he doesn't count. Nothing is going to be finished soon (well, I guess I could whip up the Kittyville hat fairly quickly, but I am still mad at it and really Fiona's cardi wouldn't take too long, but it doesn't count either). I need some instant gratification, something to post and say Ha! A finished object. Something that would allow me to procrastinate on Skully even longer. So I made a flower washcloth.

This is the one from Weekend Kniting. It's so soft and squishy, and it has a nipple in the center because I quit paying attention to the decreases towards the very end and when I tried to fix it I couldn't see my stitches in the chenille, so it's a unique design feature! My husband wants to steal it it's so soft and in such a manly color. I guess that's only fair since he won't be wearing his sweater till next winter! I used Chrystal Palace Cotton Chenille and it really hurt my hands and I have a bit of a sore spot on my right ring finger from wrestling with this yarn. This sucks because I still have 2 more hanks of this to use up, so there is more cotton chenille wrestling in my future, but I will take a little break for now. I wanted to show you the increases and decreases on my Cheesylove, the ones that killed all my braincells trying to figure out. I had to fiddle with the pictures a bit to get the stitches to show up, so I hope they can be seen ok.

These are the increases just before I start the hearts.

And, these are the decreases. I am pretty happy with them, the look nice and they fit fairly well with the K2 P1 rib. I am going to finish seaming Skully tonight. I am mostly positive that it will be done, and I am pretty sure I won't change my mind at the last minute.

Love the washcloth. :-)

You are so tricky! A lovely immediately and forever functional finished object. HURRAY Areli!!! It's very cute. Bummer the chenille hurts - there's no give in that stuff.Brava on the cheezyville! It looks amazing! Glad you saved a brain cell or two :).You go girl!

Great progress on Cheesylove! It's such a cute sweater. And thanks for reminding me about those washcloths. I could use a little instant gratification these days... :)

I love your flower washcloth! So cute and it looks infinitely squishable, too. ;-) Fantastic job on Cheesylove- it seems to be really coming along! Your increases and decreases look great! Take care, Areli! :-)

Cheesylove is really coming along,The washcloth is great, a fair exchange for a delay on the sweater! I hate chenille too, it can be a pain in the bum to work with.

I've never gotten on the flower washcloth train, but yours looks so soft and squishy that I just might have to try one sometime.

Pretty washcloth! And Cheesylove is coming along nicely. Lots of progress all around.

Great washcloth! I love it. :)It's a pity the chenille is so hard on the hands...I was planning to get some to make the same... Do you think all cotton yarns are this way or was the chenille worse than most? Perhaps Knitpicks crayon would be better as it is supposed to be softer?

Lovely blue washcloth. I made one in white and have lots of chenille left to make maybe 2 more. And you are right, I couldn't see a thing, so I was knitting it by counting my rows carefully. Good job on cheesylove, really neat.

Very pretty washcloth. The color is beautiful. Can't wait to see the Cheeseylove finished. I have just became addicted to knitting in the round. It would be great for me if I could ever figure out how to do a pattern that is for straights on the circulars. Looks like you figured it out. Would love some help.

I love your washcloth. Such a pretty color. The "nipple" does look like an intentional design feature. So funny your dh wants to use your pretty washcloth.I too have a sweater in the works for dh that may never emerge as a fo. I ease my guilt by making socks for him.Cheesy love is looking great.

I'm so sorry you had to suffer for your chenille flower washcloth--but it looks wonderful! It makes me want to get started on one.
