Well, I have finished the booties. Even, Peter thinks they are super cute and says that we will have to keep them for ever.
One little problem,
These are not the feet they were intended for!
Who would have thought gauge would be so important on booties, anyway?
Fiona, fortunately thinks I made them just for her, so it all works out. No head shots of Miss Fiona for a few days though, she has an awful cold, and her nose is dripping green slime most of the time! About the same color as the shoes, too, at least she's coordinated :-)
ETA: I forgot to tell where I found the pattern for these booties. These are the Lace and Bobble Booties from Cotton Knits for All Seasons by Debbie Bliss. And the yarn I used is a mystery, sorry, I have terrible pregnancy brain, I will do better next time :-)
I've started a sock for myself. This is a toe up pattern, which is kind of fun. Of course, I have nothing to compare with seeing as this is my first sock, but I really enjoyed making the little toe pocket. These will be the Firefighters Socks and I found the pattern here.
It has really taken me a while to get back to my needles. September just flew buy and I never knit a stitch, but than last week I again heard the siren call of the yarn in my stash. I never knew how much I missed it, but my fingers and I are much happier now that I have picked up the sticks and string again! I knit the Cabled Purse from Last Minute Knitted Gifts with some apple green pima cotton hiding out in my yarn closet. Kaelen has claimed it, which is good, because it looks kind of silly on this pregnant mamma, but it's just Kaelen's size.
The leftovers are becoming some baby booties, which are so fun and quick to knit, I think I will be making some more. And my new Vogue, it's such a great issue, so many lovely sweaters I would like to make!
And an update on the little peanut, baby is about 5 months along now, no longer making me sick or even nauseous, and I am even able to stay up later than the kids now! We had an ultrasound last week, and this child seems to be shy, didn't like being watched. Peter is convinced we are having a girl, although we are keeping it a surprise, so we'll see :-)
