EZ Tuesday
Well, it took me a while but I'm hooked.
I first bought Knitting Without Tears last summer. At the time, I was still getting over morning sickness with Simon and just couldn't get my mind into knitting at all. Her fascinating unventions made my brain hurt and thinking made me queasy. Just bad timing for new knitting revelations.
Of course Zimmermania has been going strong all over the place and all through the last year I kept falling in love with all the different EZ projects I've been seeing.
I picked up my Knitting Without Tears and decided to try again. This time was so much better. Exciting ideas, so many I would like to try and such a dear writing style, not dry or condescending. My daughter has been smuggling the books to her room she enjoys the writing style so much!
So Knitpicks had there great book sale and I indulge myself. I am only half way through Knitter's Almanac but each page holds something new. I will be reading through this pile for a while but it will be fun the whole time. And my pattern queue just keeps getting longer and longer!
Maybe if I sleep less, I can find more knitting time. It seems none of you have any to spare :-)

Nothing like going back to the best!

Hey, with 4 kids I don't know how you get to knit at all! Looks like you've got quite the collection of EZ books. I'm dying to try the baby surprise jacket. I'll need to get the relevant book though I only have Knitting Without Tears.

I have the top book and the bottom book. I read knitting without tears first and Iloved it because she basically told me, 'it's your knitting, so do what you want' I never thought of it that way before. I always thought you had to do it the way the pattern tells you, so that message was liberating. And I enjoyed the almanac so much as it gave little peeks into her life. I'm keeping an eye out for her other books.

Welcome to the Zimmermaniacs! I treasure her books, even though I haven't knit anything from her books in a while. It's just a pleasure to just read through the books, very entertaining.

what a great collection to have. I have a few of them and they are great references. I have to get around to making one of her sweaters....

I have yet to read any of the EZ books although I love seeing what everyone has made from her patterns!

Sleep less??!!! I'm for less cooking and cleaning, but I don't think my family would appreciate that...

I love EZ's wit. She cracks me up. I know some people say she's great if you like to knit a certain way, but it's important to remember what generation she was. My grandmother and her generation were taught to do things a certain way, and if they didn't, there was trouble. Making even the smallest changes was a courageous thing to do. She was a brave woman.
